Versekin privacy policy

Versekin is a local-first app: it works fully without an account, and collects as little as it can. This page says exactly what is stored, where, and how to delete it.

Without an account

Everything — your memorization progress, quiz results, XP, and preferences — is stored only on your device (in your browser's local storage). Nothing leaves the device and we cannot see it.

With an account (optional)

Signing in exists for one reason: syncing your progress across devices. When you do, we store in your account:

• Your email address (used only to sign you in) or Google sign-in identity.
• Your progress: per-verse memorization stage and review schedule, quiz results, XP, and per-day activity counts.
• Profile details you choose to enter: display name, profile picture, and optional faith-journey fields. An approximate region (a coarse geohash) is stored only if you enable the nearby-believers feature.
• Product events (e.g. "a verse was mastered after its comprehension section was viewed") used to evaluate whether comprehension-first study improves retention. These carry no verse text and no free-typed content.

Account data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider). Row-level security restricts every record to its owner. We do not sell data, and there are no third-party trackers or analytics services.

Public profiles (opt-in)

Nothing about you is visible to anyone unless you create a public profile. If you do, only the summary fields shown on that page are published, you can untick any of them, and turning the public profile off deletes the published copy immediately.

Deleting your data

• Delete your account: in the app, open Profile → Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. After a typed confirmation, this permanently removes your sign-in identity and every cloud record listed above (profile, progress, quiz results, activity, feed, public profile, follows, and events), and clears this device. It cannot be undone.
• Erase this device only: the same Danger zone offers Erase this device, which wipes local progress without touching your account.
• No account? There is nothing on our side to delete — erasing the device (or clearing the browser's site data) removes everything.
